For over 16 years, Chris Poisant has worked in the construction industry as a certified welder, journeyman ironworker, foreman and welding instructor. He began his side business, focusing on custom iron handrails, security fences, gates and deck construction, in 2003. After doing a few projects for friends and neighbors, word of his talent spread and soon he was working on projects for residents and homebuilders in Northern Virginia, DC and Richmond. In June of 2009, we officially founded Poisant Ironworks LLC.

Poisant Ironworks is family owned and operated. Molly Poisant is a co-owner of the business and handles the business development and marketing for the company. Chris and Molly have been married for 14 years and have 3 sons. They reside in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
